Ms. Brooks came prepared, with a range of ideas that I hadn’t even thought about. She gave input on asides and backstory in my first 10 pages, she gave me permission to be more direct. It was worth my time. She gave me lots to think about.

I thought the consultation was extremely helpful in how I need to rewrite my query letter. Alyssa also went over some things to help me elevate my first page. Like the type of language I need to use to push it into the realm of Adult diction, instead of the in-between YA and Adult that I have right now. I believe that I’ve benefitted from the whole experience. Would recommend it to anyone that can afford it.

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for the query and ten-pages review with Renee Fountain, Gondolpho, Helin & Fountain. Renee addressed several questions before I asked them. Along with positive feedback, she pointed out ways to polish my work that will affect the entire manuscript. These are concrete issues I can address and proceed to my next round of queries with a better product and more confidence.
