I had a fantastic session with Jennifer Wills. Such great feedback on my first 10 pages and query!
Thank you Jennifer!
Cecelia was direct and professional. I worked with her twice, once with a fairly polished query and again with another query consisting of a smattering of disconnected content that I was curious to get an agentÃs opinion on. She provided excellent feedback and was economical with our brief time together.

One of the best consults I’ve had yet with MA! I’ve been waiting for a while to snag CeCe, and it was worth the wait. It helps that my query is “almost there,” and I came away from consult very happy. She actually used the word “perfect” twice: once, in reference to my first qualifying paragraph, and the second time in reference to my last or bio paragraph. She said “don’t change a thing” for those paragraphs. As for the middle two, she asked for more plot points and development, and less characterization and creative writing. She said save that for the novel. I’ve been told this before but don’t know how to execute it. She then suggested how to add more plot without giving away the whole book. Cheers to CeCe!

My consultations were wonderful! Caitlin was incredibly helpful and the answers she had to my questions assuaged many of my fears and worries. She explained her feedback and suggestions in a clear way that felt achievable. She was friendly and warm. It was a great experience that left me invigorated to revise. =)

Renee C. Fountain exceeded my expectations both as a person and as an agent. Because of my faulty memory, I got caught up in doing something else and was about 30 minutes late joining Renee online. I immediately apologized for keeping her waiting all that time. At first, she seemed a bit standoffish, but by the time our conversation was over, she had opened to a smiling, pleasant person who projected a sunny, caring personality. The fault was 100% mine, but she said nothing about it. We talked about my work, and though she said up front that the piece wasn’t right for her, she did point out a couple of things I could do to tighten the opening. She complimented my writing and said it had left her wanting more. Her suggestions were couched in a friendly way, with each one making a strong point. The funds were a good investment, and the experience was definitely worth it. Thanks both to the organizers and to Renee. TAG

Marilyn Atlas was a warm, insightful talent manager who quickly enhanced my understanding of my work and offered great suggestions for ensuring potential agents grasped the applicability of my historical fiction for today’s readers.

Great help! Mahalo.

Melissa got right to business in our short ten minute session. That may be a turn off to some but as I thought about it I realized how professional she was. She gave me her frank opinion on my first pages coupled with my query letter and it all seemed to click. Our short ten minutes together showed she knows how to conduct herself in a frank, business like manner. Even better is the fact that the changes she recommended will surely be implemented as I’m now working on a new starting point for my novel.

I thoroughly enjoyed my consultation with Kaitlyn. She had gone over my page in detail before the meeting and had quite helpful observations. We discussed several questions I had, and I appreciate her input. On top of it all, she was extremely kind and encouraging. She’s a great Faculty Member!

Jessica was incredibly generous and helpful with her comments and industry knowledge. She truly listened to my query trenches-related issues, gave valuable feedback and offered up some actionable items. I am so very grateful I scheduled with her!

My consultation with Fiona was all I could have asked for. Her suggestions for tweaking my query were extremely helpful, tightening up the text. Her edits will help me avoid pitfalls I never anticipated. And despite the fact that I asked for brutal honesty, she was absolutely delightful. Thank you Fiona and thank you Manuscript Academy.

Katharine was the very first person in the industry I had the pleasure of speaking to. Her notes were so helpful and conversational. I felt like I was speaking to a friend instead of a leader in the literary industry. I had already read countless articles on how to write a query. In the time I spoke with Katharine I got more insight than I had in hours and hours of reading!
