Testimonials And Reviews
Savannah was great to work with! She was very thoughtful in her feedback and analysis of my manuscript. Savannah was attentive and open to questions and discussion. I would definitely recommend Savannah!

First of all, a special thank you to Manuscript Academy and Kelly for agreeing to do a speciality live critique of my snyopsis. Kelly Van Sant dove deep into my plot and helped me show the world of the main character before the inciting incident. She also encouraged me to bring up the main theme of the novel earlier. I’m so grateful for her assistance in making my snyopsis as polished as possible before a conference submission to an editor.

Kayla was so prepared. Her suggestions were direct, her explanations for deleting sentences in the query letter, moving sentences around for clarity and tightness were beyond helpful. Her attitude was upbeat, can do, and the session left me ready to deep dive back into the manuscript and query letter to turn Rejection into Acceptance. She noted where she loved my concept, a, certain lines I had written and also left me feeling so positive about my work. All this in 10 minutes! She is the consummate professional and with this also emits a warmth and collegiality which I so relish as a writer. Best session ever and I highly recommend both her and this process.

Molly was very knowledgeable and provided excellent feedback. She was professional, courteous, and especially helpful considering the limited time we had together. Turned out to be a far more impactful conversation than I couldÃve hoped for.

IÃve done a few of these consultations and this was by far the best. It really felt like Dani had my best interest at heart. She spoke to me like we were a team.

15 minutes with Dani restored my faith in myself! I had made changes to my manuscript and query letter based on a different agentÃs comments. These changes were made very grudgingly and left me feeling demoralized but a bit pugnacious. Dani didnÃt like any of those changes and unknowingly made suggestions that were very similar to my original copy. I must add that she also suggested something brilliant that I had NOT thought about.
I learned a lesson that Teacher Beth already knew but Writer Beth forgot. Just as our writing styles are unique, so are agents. Some like voice, others like carefully wrought words that transcend our dreary lives.
You might have guessed – IÃm a vocal spitfire. I had drained every ounce of spunk from my first ten pages. Dani gave me permission to return to Divadom – the domain of the Finally Fabulous.
If you err on the side of smart ass storytelling, DaniÃs your gal. She studies your work with a fine-toothed-comb (well, as much as 15 minutes will allow) and has plenty of suggestions that make so much sense.
I learned an enormous lesson from this experience. I will continue to request critiques from readers who donÃt mesh with my style not only to hone my skills but also to question myself and then walk away like The Donna.
If you know, you know!

Caitlin was very businesslike and professional. I immediately received actionable, useful advice. Her advice surprised me.
Here I had been trying to condense my synopsis, while I really wanted it to be more detailed. I thought I was doing a good job of keeping that section short. She suggested the synopsis could be more than one paragraph (I had no idea!) and that I could instead shorten my bio section to make room for the object of interest, the actual storyline. This now makes sense, but I would not have been able to see that without help.
I’m grateful for the course correction.

Larissa was very insightful, full of good suggestions and supportive, too. Very glad we did the call.

Carina was extremely helpful. She went through my query materials step by step, starting with the things she felt I had done right (helpful in putting me at ease), then offering her suggestions for improvement.
It was lovely meeting her, and very worthwhile!

Fiona really could not have been more helpful. In her very cheerful way, she pointed out the ways in which my opening chapter, as well as my query, could be improved. I’m very grateful for the suggestions she provided!

Marilyn Atlas, 10 min. Zoom meeting was great. She told me pointers of exactly what was needed. I learned so much. Every writer could benefit from her advice and critique. Truly a fantastic person, easy to talk with and expert in her field.

What a wonderful session with Caitlyn! She gave me very specific advice on how to elevate my pitch and first 10 pages, as well as information about construction/organization that will help me with future queries. Highly recommended!
