Katherine Sands was so lovely, supportive, and generous. She not only gave me detailed and incredibly helpful edits on paper, but she helped me talk through them over the phone. Finally someone who gets it!
Christina’s 10 page critique on my novel was both positive and constructive with some clear suggestions as to what to work on. Alyssa gave me a lot to think about in our session. Her notes were clear, and given in a very supportive manner. The critique was absolutely fair, and very helpful. She immediately zeroed in on a few small items that had larger connotations, and we had a great conversation about how to handle these.

Your Manuscript Will Thank You
I have been working with Ivan for nearly a year on several picture book manuscripts and have worked with other agents as well. I have also been in writers’ groups. Ivan has not only far exceeded other’s knowledge and expertise, his suggestions are inspiring and his kindness and honesty encourage me and are so supportive, I leave my meeting excited to continue my writing journey. First time caller
I’ve been considering a consultation for a long time but was hesitant. After a lot of research on the plans and facutly I landed on the “LIVE Query + 10-Page Read + 15-Minute Consultation” with Emma Peters. I am so glad that I finally took the leap – so worth it. Emma was fantastic. She asked insightful questions and gave some actionable advice on my query/pages – then made some suggestions on what to look for in agents. Great Insights!
Katharine Sands is a joy to work with. She provides a wealth of information and insider insights. Katharine understands agenting and the current publishing process and shared her knowledge as it specifically applied to my project. I’ve attended writing workshops (some of the best in the country) and learned much about writing, but Katharine’s knowledge took me in a different direction–the business part of writing/publishing. Her written critique was thorough and provided me with a road map. If we were rating, I would give her a 10 out of 10!

Absolutely Amazing: Emma was Insightful, Professional, and Completely Got Me.
I went into my 30-page review with Emma wanting to know one thing: if the work wasn’t good, tell me. I wanted a professional to look at my work and tell me honestly, go or no go. I didn’t want fluff, just the truth and honest critic. I knew with 30 minutes I wouldn’t get a beat for beat breakdown of the book and that’s not what I wanted anyway. What I got was far more than feedback. I got someone who understood my work, read my work and appreciated me as an author.
Emma is sharp, generous with her insight, and just flat-out amazing. In what was supposed to be just 30 minutes, she saw the heart of what I was trying to do and helped me see it even more clearly myself. She’s the kind of editor who meets you where you are, then helps you go further than you thought you could. I can only hope that when the time comes to choose an editor for my book, I find someone as good. That is, of course, if I can’t get Emma herself.
Overall we didn’t focus much about plot, or the 30 pages. We talked about what I was trying to accomplish with my work. She saw the themes and reflected them back with clarity and respect. I’ve never felt more understood in such a short conversation, especially from someone who wasn’t a friend or family member. It was like someone opened the gates to the path I was on, gates I had been standing in front of, not sure I had the ability or talent to open. Now I feel the path is mine.
If you’re serious about your work and want someone who will take it seriously too, talk to Emma.

Worth It!
Molly was amazingly helpful and encouraging. I’m super grateful for the opportunity to have a former agent/acquisitions editor read my work. The opening pages are so important for hooking an agent and she helped me to see what needs enhancing to give my manuscript its best shot. I’ve already had many critique partners and beta readers, but Molly was able to read with an editorial eye and this was exactly what my manuscript needed to take it to the next level. It was definitely worth hiring her for editorial letter and in-doc comments!.

New Tools in My Toolbelt!
My consultation with Krista Vitola gave me a new vision for how to set the stage at the beginning of my MG novel. Krista’s calming presence quieted my anxiety as we talked. She is gracious, approachable, and kind. We batted ideas around, and I appreciate her so much! I now have new tools in my toolbelt to make this manuscript even stronger.
