Feedback And Reviews
Linda provided the final eyes I needed on my project before querying. She is a trusted source of sanity in an industry that feels out of control. I appreciated that she didnÃt say, ìyou have to do THIS,î but rather ìhere are some options, but you donÃt need to change a thing.î I appreciated the confidence her review instilled. I feel much more fortified to win this thing!
Molly Cusick looked at the first ten pages of my novel, and I couldnÃt be happier that she did. Primarily, I wanted to know how someone would react to that all-important opening, and Molly gave me great, objective insights into how the setting, characters, and voice come across. Along with her keen eye for details, Molly has a big heart. She was really warm, down-to-earth, and encouraging. With her extensive experience in the industry, she was able to fill me in on the current trends and offer advice about querying. After talking to her, I was excited to hit the keyboard.
I really enjoyed the 10-minute session to discuss my query letter with Stephanie Winter, who was so warm and kind. Her excellent insights and suggestions were incredibly valuable, and they were delivered in a way that made it clear she sympathizes with us writers trying to craft the perfect query. All through our conversation, Stephanie made me feel like she was in my corner, and because writing is usually such a solitary endeavor, that was especially appreciated.

John offered suggestions on things I would have never known unless I’d taken advantage of a consultation like this. I am always so surprised how much I can learn in ten minutes!

Every time I think I know what I’m doing writing queries, someone comes along and blows my mind. It happened again with the Manuscript Academy’s submission workshop. Through video presentations, peer critiques, a live panel with agents, and relentless positivity, the folks at the Manuscript Academy taught me exactly what needs to be in my query and why. I can’t thank them enough for their deep knowledge and generous spirits.
LOVE Jessica. She is so helpful, and her vision for my manuscript helped me get my first chapter back on-point. I am so grateful for her time and expertise. I learned so much!
Eric was super friendly and made sure I could ask as many questions as possible. He gave me notes on my query beforehand so we could optimize our time, and we ended up just chatting about books and movies for a little while. Wonderful experience.
Katie gave me great insight. My novel has complex elements with a witty edge, so she helped me see how simplifying my query would peak agent interest. Her encouraging words were extremely helpful.
Cecelia was terrific – well-prepared and encouraging. She pointed out phrases and sentences she particularly liked as well as parts of the story that could be elevated by adding more emotion. This was just what I needed after querying for awhile without much feedback.
My consultation with Emmy Nordstrom Higdon was perfect. Emmy was a huge help in guiding my query material to a better place. They were very kind while providing honest, insightful critiques. I gained a great deal in a short period of time. What a great service for the writing community! Thank you.
Eric was great. He provided a ton of feedback and I think I’m ready to query this project!
My query consultation flew by, but Katie provided some solid feedback and suggestions for tightening my query to make it even stronger. She was both encouraging and knowledgeable, and I appreciated every one of my ten minutes with her.
