One of the hardest parts of submitting your work is ensuring that your query and page are ready to go.
Together, we will get your queries and pages (as many as we can, drawn at random) ready for submission. Even if yours isn’t chosen, you’ll learn how agents think–and take away lessons that will help you long into your submissions process.
The panel will be followed by a Q&A, where you can ask your burning publishing questions of our panel.
This event is open to all genres.
Bridget Smith has been an agent at JABberwocky Literary Agency since 2019. She grew up in Connecticut and graduated from Brown University with a BA in anthropology in 2010. After graduation, she interned at Don Congdon Associates, worked at a secondhand bookstore, and read submissions for Tor.com. In 2011, she started as an assistant at Dunham Literary, and she remained there as an agent until moving over to JABberwocky.
Bridget represents both YA and adult fiction. In YA she handles all genres but has a soft spot for emotion-driven contemporary (books about teenage girls having feelings) and smart, sophisticated fantasy. In adult, her main focus is SFF, particularly historical fantasy, epic fantasy, space opera, and romantic SFF, but she also loves literary historical fiction, contemporary fiction with genre elements, and smart funny rom-coms.
