I had a ten-minute query review with Amy Bishop and found it to be very helpful. I’ve been struggling with how to pitch my novel to show what makes it different, yet not give away too much of the plot, and I felt like I was in a never-ending rabbit-hole of revisions, and nothing was hitting the mark. Amy helped me zero in on what wasn’t working – so hopefully I can be more successful with my next round of queries.

This was my first Manuscript Academy query consultation and it was a valuable experience. Anjanette was thoughtful and specific in her feedback and generous with her expertise. She made a point to address my questions vs. only focusing on her notes. It was a comfortable conversation, though I was hyper-aware of the limited time.

Anjanette looked at my query letter and gave me some great suggestions. She pointed out which sentences made her ask questions (a good thing, she said) and the ones that arenÃt clear. Queries are short and canÃt have any redundant information and she pointed out parts I didnÃt need. I appreciate her advice and canÃt wait to improve my query some more.

I just had a 10 page/15 minute consultation with Alyssa. She is wonderful. She’s straightforward, clear and concise. I sent seven pages of my manuscript and three pages of my synopsis, which was the perfect combination. She went over my synopsis in detail and found the holes I knew were there but couldn’t find on my own. I’m so grateful for her observations and guidance. I know exactly what I need to do now.
