Focused, Insightful Query Feedback

Stephanie was so friendly and so helpful! She had really great suggestions to improve my query letter and helped me focus on the parts that made it shine. She also had thoughtful, insightful answers for all my questions, and her feedback really made my pitch and comps shine. I would highly recommend a consult with her – she has so many great ideas and really took the time to dig into my query.

Tightening Queries with Precision

I’m so glad I participated in 10 Minutes with an Expert! I submitted my query letter. Even though I had done my research and thought it was pretty good already, Megan’s comments really tightened it up (word count dropped by 50). Ten minutes goes fast. I had prepared a couple of specific questions, took notes, and then ran back to my letter before I forgot everything. It was totally worth it.

Thanks, Megan and Manuscript Academy!

Voice and Genre Insights

I did a 10-minute with an expert session with Em Lysaght of Ladderbird Literary Agency to get tips on how to improve my first page. She was extremely helpful, gave several useful tips on what can grab an agent’s attention. Voice is most important for her. She also gave information on why “genre” is important in the marketing process.

Invaluable Goal-Setting for Writers

I received a good deal of benefit from Valentina’s coaching. Being encouraged to set specific goals, even though I didn’t meet some of them, was invaluable. It taught me a lot about myself as a writer which helps immensely in planning my work and understanding my personal creative process. Valentina was always informative, knowledgeable and encouraging.

Clear Guidance on What Works

Caitlin rocked. She took me right to what worked and then to what didn’t work. Getting published isn’t just about having my name on a book, it’s about the experience of working with a genius editor who will guide you through improving your writing. Caitlin gave me a taste of what that’s like. Which is joyous. Alsoóand I’m STILL kind of coasting on thisóI secretly think I’d fit on the shelf next to a certain super famous author and Caitlin mentioned him in the first three minutes of the call and I almost died.
