Emma Peters graduated summa cum laude from Kalamazoo College in Michigan where she studied English and Latin. She co-edited the college’s literary magazine, The Cauldron, and she was the assistant director of the Writing Center, where she realized her love of working with words. She attended the Columbia Publishing Course in Oxford in 2018. After moving to New York in 2019, she was an Editorial Assistant and Assistant Editor for the college composition and literature team at W. W. Norton & Company until 2022, when she became the Managing Editor at powerHouse Books in Brooklyn, where she worked primarily with the children’s book imprint, POW! Kids Books. In 2024 she moved to Countryman Press (an imprint of W.W. Norton), where she edits and acquires cookbooks, travel books, and health & wellness guides. She has freelance-edited YA science fiction and fantasy literature, and in her free time she reads all kinds of genre fiction with a particular proclivity for anything with dragons.
