Amy Paradysz is a book editor with 20 years of book publishing experience. Since learning the ropes as an associate editor and managing editor at Globe Pequot Press, she has worked as a freelance editor for Globe Pequot Publishing, Rowman & Littlefield, Bloomsbury Publishing Inc., Quarto Publishing Group, Islandport Press, and Cider Mill Press.

Through The Manuscript Academy, Amy copyedits book manuscripts in adult fiction and narrative nonfiction. Historical fiction, especially, is her happy place.

Amy has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (with a minor in history) and studied literary journalism and history as a graduate student at the University of Arkansas. She is a member of ACES: The Society for Editing.

HYBRID is a live meeting at the appointment time, with written notes.

Comes with large-scale edits (character, world, plot, tension, concept, conflict, and similar as needed) in an editorial letter and small-scale, line-by-line notes as needed (for longer critiques, an average of three per page).
