Maeve is an agent at Copps Literary Services with a background in Foreign and Sub-rights. She is looking for genre-blending commercial queer SFF in YA/MG/Adult/Graphic Novels with a particular focus on BIPOC authors and authors of marginalized identities. She often judges books by their villains, and thinks the best stories are the ones that gnaw at you.
Maeve began her career at Scholastic and Insight Editions. She joined Ladderbird as an Agent in 2019 and Copps Literary in 2022, and is now based out of Oakland, CA. She holds a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Occidental College, a publishing certificate from NYU, an MLitt in Ancient Greek Monsters from The University of St Andrews in Scotland, and a handful of college credits from art schools across the US. She reads widely across genre and age range and is particularly looking for queer and POC authors taking on genre tropes in commercial SFF fiction.
