Using Film To Jumpstart First Pages
Welcome to our new Manuscript Academy offering entitled: Using Film to Jumpstart First Pages.
This is “go at your own pace” class that will be followed up by a live Q&A on Thursday, July 12.
Designed to be another tool for your writing, editing, and critiquing toolbox, this is a low stress class designed to activate your mind between the written word and visual media. Please plan on spending about two hours on this class between the sixty-minutes of instruction, the video clip viewing, plus the writing activities (optional).
For ease of reviewing and copyright concerns, the videos can be found on YouTube. You may click on our links or simply follow the Google key words.

I encourage you to nerd out on this process. Go find your favorite scripts (easiest to find older ones) and then compare the script to the scenes, take note of decisions that were made and the revisions. For fun, find a book-to-film projects, read the scene and find the script. Compare!
We promise, you’ll never be bored again. Most importantly, your brain will take in your scenes in a whole new way.
Hope you enjoy!
