Member Lounge: Live Panel with Editor Emily Daluga

Join us for a queries and first pages panel with editor Emily Daluga (Abrams books). Submit your work for a chance at live feedback from our panel–plus, of course, a publishing Q&A. This event is designed to be supportive, uplifting, encouraging–and 100% introvert-friendly. (Wear pajamas! We’ll never know.)

Queries and pages will be chosen at random, then given three minutes of feedback, so we can get through as many as possible.

A replay will be available 15 minutes after the end of the event, and we’ll send the link to submit your work when we register. This event will work on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop.

Emily Daluga (she/her) is an Associate Editor at Abrams Books for Young Readers and Amulet Books. Before finding her place at Abrams in 2017, she worked as a bookseller at the Strand, a librarian in Illinois and Ohio, and a ticket taker at the AMC in Times Square. When not working, she enjoys holing up in cozy coffee shops to write, watching bad horror movies, going to see musicals whenever she can, and (when it’s warm enough) rollerblading!

Emily mostly focuses on middle-grade and YA novels, but has also worked on chapter books and early readers and is happy to critique them.

She’s worked on a wide range of titles, including Chris Riddell’s Poems to Live Your Life By, the First Names series, a YA fantasy novel called Winter, White and Wicked, and a middle-grade horror series called Fright Watch. She’s most excited by genre stories with an interesting twist, especially ones that include a diverse cast of characters whose voices are often underrepresented, monsters of all kinds, and young women coming into their own—bonus points for all three! Some of the books she loves most of all are Turtles All the Way Down, Fangirl, The Prince and the Dressmaker, Jane Eyre, and The Hazel Wood. Her favorite genres are contemporary realistic, romance, horror, and fantasy.
