Chelsey Emmelhainz has spent more than 15 years partnering with authors to shape and polish their narrative work. She spent over a decade as an editor of upmarket fiction and nonfiction in NYC publishing houses large and small, including HarperCollins imprints William Morrow and Avon Books. After returning home to Colorado, she worked in the query trenches alongside authors as a literary agent.
While lucky enough to have worked with authors at all stages of their careers, Chelsey has a special affinity for those just starting out. Her editorial experience exposed her to a wide range of adult commercial fiction and nonfiction including, but not limited to women’s fiction, romance, erotica, horror, mysteries, suspense, and thrillers—as well as nonfiction projects exploring subjects like gender issues, politics, pop culture, and history.
Thanks to this breadth of experience, Chelsey has developed a discerning editorial eye: she knows what works, what doesn’t, and how to polish projects to attract the attention of agents, editors, publishers, and readers alike. She enjoys helping authors elevate their work through a collaborative revision process and thoughtful feedback.
