Delightful conversation!
From Ms. Sands, I received a mini-master class in how agents read queries and first pages–what they’re looking for and why. In the same way that writers see the world differently so, too, with agents who read and listen with editors and the book-buying public in mind. Kind, helpful, and to the point
I had a LIVE Query + 10-Page Read + 15-Minute Consultation with Kelly for my Middle Grade time travel story.
Kelly was very kind. She started the call by checking that we were talking about the correct manuscript and asked if I had specific questions for her, which I did. She answered them with very helpful information/advice and added her own thoughts and comments on the material she had read. She also asked me a couple of questions.
The 15 minutes were just the right length for what I needed, and I’m very glad the lovely people from the Manuscript Academy recommended this format to me!
