Feedback And Reviews
Exactly the guidance a debut author needs
Erica went through my query paragraph by paragraph and gave me precise, actionable feedback. She spotted immediately that framing the book as ‘first in a planned series’ was weakening my submission, and advised repositioning it as a stand-alone with series potential. She also pushed me to make the protagonist’s personal stakes clearer. It was the kind of specific, craft-focused guidance that’s hard to find elsewhere. Professional, warm, and genuinely useful for a debut author navigating the query trenches.

Delightful and thorough!
Christina was delightful and gave thorough, precise feedback…a combination that, for someone in the querying weeds, was genuinely encouraging. She provided a clear blueprint for revision by building on what was already working, which made the path forward feel both structured and achievable. She was open to questions and gave thoughtful answers, and her industry insight helped me understand where my pages needed to align with what editors and agents are actually prioritizing right now. If you’re a fiction writer at the submission stage looking for feedback that’s both craft-focused and market-aware, I can’t recommend her highly enough.

So much insight in just 10 minutes
Caitlin was straight to the point while being professional and insightful! Her critiques were specific enough that after applying them to my query letter and first chapter, there is clear improvement in clarity and flow.

Thank you Carina Licon & Manuscript Academy
Carina Licon’s feedback and edits are of the highest quality. Very helpful, thorough, and insightful. I will definitely send more of my stories to Carina in the future. Thank you so much to Carina and Manuscript Academy.

Super helpful
Linda is amazing – patient, kind and really insightful critique with steps to update query to make it pop.

Just What Writers Need
First time requesting a written critique through Manuscript Academy . . . not only did I survive it, I enjoyed it! Will definitely do this again. Feedback on my PB from Molly was both encouraging and insightful, and it was super convenient to schedule when I wanted the feedback. In an industry where writers have agonizing wait periods after sending off their work, this service is a hidden gem.

Delightful conversation!
From Ms. Sands, I received a mini-master class in how agents read queries and first pages–what they’re looking for and why. In the same way that writers see the world differently so, too, with agents who read and listen with editors and the book-buying public in mind. I’m in the process of querying a memoir and have yet to nail my pitch. Now I better understand why. Thank you, Katharine and the Manuscript Academy.

Thank you to Manuscript Academy
Jessica and Julie, I owe you both so much. This whole experience with the Manuscript Academy in the last three months has transformed my career. I’m surprised at how much this has affected my writing as well. Instead of facing and adressing a stiff, forbidding wall, I am writing with hope, learning to trust my reader again rather than defend myself against rejection.
Hugs to you both.

Spot-On Suggestions!
I had a ten-page written critique from Krista. Her line edits made the chapter read more smoothly and her big-picture suggestions about pacing and “bread crumbing” made tons of sense. What a great resource. Thank you very much!

Wonderful, Jessica
Every comment was brilliant. Her insight is humbling. I love learning things and I learned a lot from her. I believe she helped me so much. What is there to say but thank you, thank you, and thank you.

Kind, helpful, and to the point
I had a LIVE Query + 10-Page Read + 15-Minute Consultation with Kelly for my Middle Grade time travel story.
Kelly was very kind. She started the call by checking that we were talking about the correct manuscript and asked if I had specific questions for her, which I did. She answered them with very helpful information/advice and added her own thoughts and comments on the material she had read. She also asked me a couple of questions.
The 15 minutes were just the right length for what I needed, and I’m very glad the lovely people from the Manuscript Academy recommended this format to me!

Puts AI to shame
Bridget caught on immediately as to what I was doing with my project. She clarified some misinformation I had been given. I faced a dilemma that she helped me work through and find a viable solution. Time and money well spent.
