Kind, helpful, and to the point
I had a LIVE Query + 10-Page Read + 15-Minute Consultation with Kelly for my Middle Grade time travel story.
Kelly was very kind. She started the call by checking that we were talking about the correct manuscript and asked if I had specific questions for her, which I did. She answered them with very helpful information/advice and added her own thoughts and comments on the material she had read. She also asked me a couple of questions.
The 15 minutes were just the right length for what I needed, and I’m very glad the lovely people from the Manuscript Academy recommended this format to me!

Puts AI to shame

Gee, I didn’t know that!
I’m grateful to Amy Paradysz for copyediting one hundred pages of my manuscript. The edits were very helpful. It’s those fussy commas and smack-the-forhead “Oh, right, that’s much more logical,” epiphanies. The edits were thoughtful and detailed. I am grateful for the style sheet as well. She loved my query letter. Yay!

Jessica Felleman was super kind and helpful in our quick critique. She had thoughtful suggestions to make my query clearer and more interesting, as well as helped me develop a one-sentence hook for the opening that I’d been struggling with. She went through each of her line edits and allowed me time to ask clarifying questions, all while being kind and mindful of the time. At the end, she even suggested I query another agent friend of hers – and that person wasn’t on my list at all, so I appreciated the head’s up!
